Comments from ‘Big’ Ron Atkinson…
Hi lads,
so thats it, BANG, season over. Early doors this match had something strange about it. Neither side wanted to get a strangle hold on it.
First we down then up, then when were up we were down. I thought that either side could win in, or it could be a draw. The boy Liam lost the opener, and then Joe issued the reducer by bringing the game back to 1-1. Then big Al stepped in, predatoring as usual, he took his match with a certain aplomb. Sadly JV couldn’t follow up and the match was again all square. Then the skipper gave another “skipper type” performance, I had a gut feeling in my stomach he was going to tin hat his opponent, and he didn’t disappoint.
The skipper then turned to an old head on old shoulders by throwing on big H. H did well but when it came to the crunch, his finishing was precise but wide. At this point I’d like to say welcome back Nez. After some indifferent form he played a great game and put the team on the lid of victory. But it was all for not as the match slowly started to slip away. The boys Toner and Moss both started early, scored well, looked comfortable and then left themselves five!! I think the problem was that they had acres of time, and they ran out of acres.
So that’s it for the 2006-2007 season, we are all looking forward to the first Foresters Annual Ball (FAB1) which is due to take place at “The Home of Darts” on the 10th of May, WAGS invited of course.
My Rating 3 out of 5

Comments from ‘Big’ Ron Atkinson…
Hi lads,
The season is nearly over and the Foresters secure another victory. I was always concerned that the Foresters might have Gone Empty before the end of the season but you keep picking up wins. I thought this match was going to be plain sailing but a ruddy great ice berg hoved into view.
The skipper started with the old one-two to get us started Liam and Joe. And yet againt the skipper got a good return on his deal as the opening two games were sewn up. The boy Henderson played a good game but came out the loser in his game, so big Alan steadied the ship. The ship began to flounder in the tossing seas at the Harradon as H and the boy Nesbit proceeded to lose their games. The skipper then tried to put the ship back on course with a splendid performance, on 177 he scored 137 to leave double-top. He duely obliged, and the ship seemed to be heading for calmer waters. When the boy Sarbutts couldnt finish his game off it looked like we were taking on water. But if you need a man to plug a hole, then get me First Semen Moss (have I mis-spelt that?). Even playing with alien darts he saw us through safe passage to dock in the town of victory.
So that leaves us with one game to go, and its away at the Prince George, I’ll see you then.
My Rating 3 out 5
